Halloween 1985 on PS5 Pro: Trophy Guide & Mini Review

I recently got a chance to play through Halloween 1985 on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review code provided by eastasiasoft.

You can find my platinum trophy walkthrough below:

Trophy tips:

  • To get the Pumpkin Run trophy, you need to only collect the pumpkin that is blinking. Picking up the non-blinking ones will lock you out of this trophy.
  • To get the Minion Master, Monster Smasher and Monster Expert trophies, you need to use the environmental traps. You will get a quick tutorial before every level to see how you can hurt them.
  • The get the Easy Run trophy, you need to beat a level without dying.
  • All of the aforementioned miscellaneous trophies can be done easily in the first level with enough practice.
  • For the Inferno Level, you have to beat all six levels before running out of lives. You can do the first five in any order. Once you beat all five, the sixth and final level will unlock. When attempting this, you should avoid doing any of the extra tasks and instead focus on getting all the pumpkins as fast as possible.

You can check out my impressions of this game below:

Pros:

  • Fun old-school platformer.
  • Multiple difficulty levels add to replayability.

Cons:

  • None.

Overall:

Halloween 1985 is an old-school 2D platformer that takes place in a single screen. Your main objective is to collect all of your stolen pumpkins while avoiding enemies.

There are also side objectives like collecting the pumpkins in certain order or hitting the bosses three times, that add to your score. For every 20,000 points to accumulate in your run, you will earn a crucial extra life.

If you managed to beat all six levels before losing all your health, a new difficulty setting if you want the added challenge.

Overall, Halloween 1985 is a simple yet fun 2D platformer that will certainly test your skill. If you are a fan of the original Donkey Kong of the NES, then Halloween 1985 should be a must play.
