Makis Adventure on PS5 Pro: Trophy Guide & Mini Review

I recently got a chance to play through Makis Adventure, thanks a review copy from eastasiasoft.

You can find my gameplay video, which includes earning the platinum trophy, below:

  • Trophy tips:
  • You need to jump, kill, cut a lot of grass and acquire a lot of coins for the platinum. Keep these actions in mind as you play through the main story to minimize the grinding.
  • The best place to grind for the Maneater trophies is in the third dungeon. Refer to the video for the location I found.
  • For the Reaper and Millionaire trophies, you can try grinding in and outside the library in the first dungeon.
  • Winning the scratch card will give you 300 coins that should count towards the Millionaire trophies.
  • When buying potions at Cornelius, the strength potion is the best option since it helps you defeat the bosses faster.
  • I played in normal difficulty, but all trophies can be earned in the easiest difficulty setting.

You can also check out my mini-review of Makis Adventure below:

Pros:

  • Different shark abilities.
  • Explorable 3D world map.
  • A lot of interesting mini-games.

Cons:

  • Various glitches.

Overall:

Makis Adventure, otherwise known as Maki’s Adventure, is an action-platforming game with some unique elements.

For one, you get to play as a shape-shifting shark. On land, you have two legs and use a scythe to attack enemies.

In water, you can switch between three different sharks: one that attacks, one that breaks rocks, and one that speeds up movement.

The other unique element is that, once you get out of the first dungeon, the game surprises you by putting you in an explorable 3D world map. There is also a surprising amount of mini-games littered throughout that you can try out.

So, while the game may have a short main path, there is plenty of side content to get into.

Unfortunately, Makis Adventure is plagued with glitches. As you can see in the video, there were several times where the mini-game did not properly load. I also ended up getting stuck during a boss fight, forcing me to reload.

Thankfully, the game does auto-save often, so I didn’t really lose progress.

If you don’t mind the glitches, then Makis Adventure is a very fun action platformer with an interesting world to explore.
