I recently got to play through all of Amanda the Adventurer 3 on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by DreadXP.
You can find my Platinum Trophy gameplay below:
Trophy tips:
- Try to follow the video guide as closely as possible to avoid the missable trophies.
- If you missed some, use the chapter select after beating the game and unlocking both endings.
- Avoid dialing 91111 on the clown phone. Otherwise, you have to start the entire game all over again.
You can find my impressions of this game below:
Pros:
- Engrossing story with a story recap of previous games.
- Creative puzzles.
Cons:
- Using R3 to crouch.
Overall:
Amanda the Adventurer 3 is a puzzle game with a little bit of horror mixed in. Players are tasked to solve escape room puzzles, often by watching tapes of a children show. This can create some unique puzzles that I won’t spoil.
Amanda the Adventurer 3 serves as the final game in the trilogy. If you missed out on the first two, or completely forgot what happened, then you can watch a recap video from the main menu.
The story for the final game is quite engrossing, even if you only experience the two prequels through the recap video. You will certainly want to keep playing to find out more.
The only real downside is using the R3 button to crouch. This makes it impossible to stay in a crouch position. I ended up changing the crouch to L1 via the system menus on the PS5.
Overall, Amanda the Adventurer 3 is an excellent adventure game that creatively uses a children’s show as a premise. If you are into these types of horror adventure titles, make sure you check out this sequel (and the rest of the series if you haven’t done so already).
