I recently got a chance to play through Midnight Swamp, thanks to a review code provided by Sometimes You.
You can find my gameplay video, which shows you how to unlock the Platinum Trophy, below:
Trophy tips:
- You will get most of the trophies by beating the game. The only missable ones are the following:
- Accident – Die.
- “Fine, give it here.” – Feed the cat.
- Both of these can be done near the beginning of the game.
- For Accident, simply walk into the Medusa cave without feeding her poison.
- For “Fine, give it here,” catch a fish from the pond and then feed it to the cat on the tree before you enter the castle, which is the point of no return. While you have unlimited bait, you can only carry one fish at a time.
You can check out my mini-review of Midnight Swap below:
Pros:
- Fun puzzle designs.
- Hints system.
Cons:
- Uninteresting story.
Overall:
Midnight Swamp is a dark fantasy adventure game that leans on the easier side. This is because it provides a rather generous hints system that will give you the solutions right away most of the time if you click on the question mark enough times. You can also press a button to highlight objects that are interactable.
Despite the simplicity, the game does have a few clever puzzle designs that require you to observe the environment.
The only negative is that the story ended up being rather uninteresting even though it originally showed a ton of promise.
Still, Midnight Swamp is a great adventure game for beginners of the genre who were previously put off by some of the more complicated titles from the same genre.
