I recently got to play around an hour of Dusk Diver (PS4) running on a PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by PQube. The “Enhance Image Quality for PS4 Games” setting is enabled for this game.
You can find my gameplay video and written impressions of this game below:
Pros:
- Stylish presentation.
- Fun city hub to explore in-between missions.
Cons:
- Combat may be too simple for some.
Overall:
Dusk Diver is a 3D beat ‘em up with light RPG elements. The game takes place in a very stylish Taipei, with visuals that should remind a lot of people of Tokyo Mirage Sessions.
While you can explore the city to buy food, restock items and progress the story, combat is the bread-and-butter of Dusk Diver. Battles play out more like Dynasty Warriors than Devil May Cry, as you deal with waves of enemies by doing basic attack combos.
If you build up enough SP, then you can summon a character or use a special attack to take out multiple enemies at once.
Overall, Dusk Diver is a fun and stylish beat ‘em up with a unique setting.
