I recently got a chance to try out Keeper’s Toll on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review ropy provided by eastasiasoft.
You can find my gameplay video, as well as my written impressions, below:
Pros:
- Nice variety of classes and abilities.
- Interesting boss fights that change things up.
- Permanent upgrades add to progression.
Cons:
- None
Overall:
Keeper’s Toll is a bullet heaven game that should remind many of Vampire Survivors. For the uninformed, this means that the character auto-attacks, leaving the spacing, dodging and upgrading to the player.
While the game is a roguelite, it is not as intimidating as you may expect. This is because it offers permanent upgrades that should make each run easier than before.
Once you survive long enough, you will run into boss fights. Some of these battles really mix things up and may require multiple retries.
Overall, this is one of the better bullet heaven games. If you are a fan of Vampire Survivors or other titles from the same genre, then Keeper’s Toll is a must-play.
