As you can see in the video, the remake does looks better when compared to the remastered release, with the newer releases having better lighting and being more vibrant.

In terms of the character models, Kiryu wears different clothes and looks a little younger overall. Of course, Rikiya got a complete makeover along with a new voice actor when compared to his original form.

When compared to Yakuza 3, voice acting was added in some scenes and removed in others with the remake. Some of the dialogue lines were changed as well.

So, for better or worse, you can expect some major changes when it comes to story and presentation in Yakuza Kiwami 3.

Yakuza 3 Kiwami and Dark Tides will be released on February 12, 2026.
