What to do when you lost your Sony Xperia PRO-I

If you managed to lose your Sony Xperia PRO-I, then you may still be able to recover it if you have the right settings previously set up. To find out how to do so, you can follow this guide at Seeking Tech.

Find My Device Prerequisites for Sony Xperia PRO-I

To be able to find your phone, you will need the following requirements:

  • Your Xperia PRO-I need to have the Location feature enabled
  • The Find My Device feature for the smartphone should also be turned on.
  • The device must be visible to Google Play.
  • The Xperia PRO-I must be turned on.
  • It should also be connected to a mobile network or Wi-Fi.
  • The phone should currently be signed into a Google Account.

How to find your lost Xperia PRO-I

If you met the aforementioned requirements, then you can take the following steps to find your lost phone.

1. You can either visit the Find My Device website or open the Find My Device app (if you don’t have this application installed, you can download it from the Google Play Store of your Android device).

2. Next, you need to sign into the same Google Account that you were using with the Sony Xperia PRO-I.

3. After signing in, you should see a list of devices that support the Find My Device on the top row.

4. If you have multiple devices enabled for Find My Device, make sure you switch over to the Xperia PRO-I.

5. After selecting your lost phone, you should see a map showing the approximate or last known location of the device.

6. If possible, head over to that location.

7. Once you get near the location marked on the map, select the Play Sound option from the Find My Device website or app. This will force the Xperia PRO-I to ring for 5 minutes.

8. Using the ringtone, try to locate your missing phone.

9. You can keep selecting the Play Sound option indefinitely as long as your lost device still has some battery life.

How to lock your lost Xperia PRO-I

If you are afraid a stranger will find your missing Xperia PRO-I and access your personal data before you can find it, then you can lock the device by doing the following:

1. Go to the Find My Device website or application.

2. Make sure you are logged into the same Google Account that you used for the Xperia PRO-I.

3. After logging in, make sure that your missing phone is selected if you have multiple devices registered for Find My Device.

4. Finally, select the “Secure Device” option.

Keep in mind that this will disable the Play Sound option for Find My Device as the Xperia PRO-I will sign you out of your Google Account.

You can still leave a phone number and message on the lock screen in hope of someone finding your phone.

How to erase your personal information from your lost Xperia PRO-I

If you have no hope in recovering your missing Sony Xperia PRO-I, then you may want to remotely erase all your personal data you have stored on it.

In order to do so, you need to do the following:

1. Head over to the Find My Device site or mobile app.

2. Sign into the same Google Account you were using for your missing phone.

3. If you have multiple devices on Find My Device, then you need to select the Xperia PRO-I.

4. Lastly, you need to select the “Erase Device” option.

By erasing your personal data, you will have no way of recovering your missing phone via Find My Device. Therefore, you should select this option only when you believe that you can no longer get back your lost device.
