Dimensions

When it comes to the physical size, the 1 TB and 2 TB HD710 Pro are nearly identical to the 1 TB and 2 TB HD710M Pro as the latter are slightly longer in length.

The 4 TB and 5 TB HD710 Pro hard drives are thicker than the 1 TB and 2 TB capacities of the HD710 Pro and HD710M Pro.

The HD710 Pro External Hard Drive and HD710M Pro External Hard Drive also feature a groove that will keep the USB cable locked into place on the side of the outer shell.

Dust and Water Resistance

The two external hard drives have been rated IP68.

In terms of dust resistance, the HD710 Pro and HD710M Pro is tight enough to prevent large quantity of dust particles from getting inside the outer case that may potentially causing harm to the hard disk drive. With that said, both products aren’t completely dust tight.

In terms of water resistance, the two external HDDs can withstand being dropped underwater at up to 2 meters in depth for a maximum of 1 hour. The two devices also feature a water-proofed covering to protect the USB connector.

Shock Resistance

The two hard drives in this versus showdown can also withstand shocks from a fall of up to 1.5 meter.

Shock Sensor Technology

Both devices also use shock sensors, which will send a red LED warning light signal. At the same time, the protection mechanisms of the HD710 Pro and HD710M Pro will work to protect the data on the hard disk drive.

The operating temperature ranges are identical for the two ADATA products at 5 °C to 50 °C (or 41 °F to 121 °F).
