Little Things on PS5 Pro – First Impressions

I recently got a chance to play around one hour of Little Things of the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review code sent by Dolores Entertainment S.L.

You can find my playthrough, along with my text impressions, below:

Pros:

  • A good mix between platforming and puzzle solving.
  • Very responsive controls.
  • Being able to instantly retry.
  • Great retro-inspired soundtrack.

Cons:

  • The wiki screen gets in the way.

Overall:

Little Things is a single screen platformer with some puzzle elements. The controls are extremely responsive, making the running and jumping feel sublime.

I also liked that you can instantly retry the same level after death or by simply pressing the retry button during the middle of a run.

While the 8-bit pixel art is great, the atmospheric soundtrack is the real standout and really sets the mood for the entire experience.

The only negative I have experienced so far, aside from the game crashing once in my playthrough, is that the wiki screen keeps blocking the view of the level. I must have kept hitting the button unintentionally as it pops up a lot. This help screen would have been better if it is only accessible on the pause screen.

Despite my complaint, Little Things is an excellent 2D platformer that will not only test your reflexes, but also your puzzle-solving skills.
