Kitchen Wars on PS5 Pro: First Impressions

I recently got a chance to play around an around of the single player in Kitchen Wars on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by Take IT Studio!

You can find my gameplay video below:

You can also check out my first impressions of Kitchen Wars below:

Pros:

  • Chaotic restaurant multiplayer for up to eight players.
  • Being able to sabotage the other team.
  • Online and local multiplayer support.

Cons:

  • Limited and imbalanced single player.

Overall:

Kitchen Wars is a multiplayer game where two restaurants battle it out. In order to come out on top, you have to make sure you server your customers while sabotaging the restaurant next door.

There are several power-ups you can get that will help in both offense and defensive. The frying pan, for example, can be used as a melee weapon, while you can hurl long range weapons to interrupt the operations of the competition.

While Kitchen Wars supports single player, you are limited only to the survival mode. Unlike the main game, your goal in survival mode is to survive as long as possible against waves of enemies.

Although this mode is in co-op, it is not exactly balanced for solo play. Enemies can easily overwhelm you if you are playing alone. It is quite easy to get disoriented and lost among the chaos, especially if you get stunned and knock around.

Overall, Kitchen Wars is a simple yet very fun multiplayer game to play with friends. While you can play the game in single player, you are only limited to the Survival Mode, which is quite unbalanced if you are playing alone.
