JBL Xtreme 3: How to pair, upgrade firmware, reset and more

How to pair JBL Xtreme 3 to another device

To pair your Xtreme 3 to another device, you need to take the following steps:

1. First, you need to make sure that your device supports Bluetooth.

If you are using an Android device, you must be using the 5.0 Android OS or later.

2. On your device, make sure you are in the Bluetooth settings menu where you can detect nearby Bluetooth devices.

On Android, you need to go to Settings > Connected devices > Bluetooth > Pair new device.

3. Press the Bluetooth button on your Xtreme 3 speaker. The speaker should then appear in the Bluetooth menu of the device.

4. On the device, tap the name of speaker to pair it.

How to pair JBL Xtreme 3 to another speaker

You can also pair your Xtreme 3 to another speaker.

To do so, you need to do the following:

1. First off, you need to make sure that the other speaker use the PartyBoost feature.

2. Now that you have the right combination of PartyBoost speakers, press the Connect/Partyboost button (it looks like the infinity symbol) on your Xtreme 3.

3. Afterwards, quickly press the press the Connect/Partyboost button on the other speaker (or speakers if you are planning to use more than two connected speakers at a time).

How to setup JBL Xtreme 3 in stereo mode

To setup the Xtreme 3 in stereo mode, you need to do the following:

1. First off, you will need two speakers that support the aforementioned PartyBoost feature. You will also need a device with the JBL Portable app installed on it.

2. After getting the right combination of speakers, you need to turn both devices on.

3. If you haven’t done so already, pair both speakers to the device that has the JBL Portable app installed.

4. Start streaming some content on the device.

5. Launch the JBL Portable app on the device. The app should detect the speaker that is playing the content.

6. After one of the speakers has been detected by the app, press the Connect/Partyboost button on the two speakers. The app should now be able to identify both.

7. On the device, you will be given the option to use Partymode or Stereo Mode.

8. Before using the Stereo Mode, make sure you play at least five seconds of audio in Partymode before switching to stereo.

How to updated the firmware of the JBL Xtreme 3

You need to do the following instructions to update the firmware of the JBL Xtreme 3.

1. To begin, you will need an Apple or Android device with the JBL Portable app installed.

2. Make sure that the speaker has been paired and connected to the device that has the JBL Portable app.

3. Launch the app on the device and it should detect your Xtreme 3 speaker.

4. If you see a small red dot above the gear icon of the speaker’s page, that means a new software version for the speaker is available for download.

5. Tap the gear icon and follow the instructions on screen to update the firmware of your speaker.

How to factory reset the JBL Xtreme 3

If you want to reset the settings to your Xtreme 3, you can do the following:

1. Turn on the Xtreme 3 speaker.

2. Press and hold the VOL+ and Pause/Play at the same time for around 5 to 6 seconds.

3. The speaker should turn off. At that point, the speaker has been reset to its factory settings.

4. If you want to pair the speaker to the same device as before, you need to “forget” the speaker on the device.

How to use JBL Xtreme 3 as a power bank

To recharge other devices with the Extreme 3 speaker, you need to do the following:

1. First, make sure that your Xtreme 3 has plenty of battery life.

2. Next, you need to open the back compartment of the speaker.

3. You can connect an USB cable to either the USB Type-A port or USB Type-C port.

4. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the device you want to recharge.
