Does the Samsung Odyssey G3 comes with any HDMI 2.1 ports?
The Samsung Odyssey G3 does not come with any HDMI 2.1 ports.
Instead, this gaming monitor has a single HDMI 2.0 port.
The PS5, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X use HDMI 2.1 to play games at 120 frames per second in up to 4K. With HDMI 2.0, the PS5 can play games at 120 frames per second in up to 1080p while the Xbox Series consoles can play games at 120 frames per second in up to 1440p.
For older consoles (like the PS4, Xbox One and Switch), you should be able to play games at 60 frames per second in a maximum resolution of 1080p with the G3.
Maximum Resolution
The maximum resolution for the Odyssey G3 is 1080p, which is 1920 x 1080.
Although the new PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles are built for 4K although both can output at up to 8K. Both of these systems can also display at 1080p.
The Xbox Series S is designed mainly as a 1080p or 1440p console although it is capable of displaying at up to 8K as well.
Native Refresh Rate
The Odyssey G3 features a native refresh rate of 144 Hz, which means that it can display games at up to 144 frames per second. With that said, only certain PC games can run at 144 FPS.
For the new consoles, this monitor will support frame rates of up to 120 frames per second on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
For older HDMI consoles, you can play games at up to 60 frames per second with this screen.
Adaptive Sync Support
When it comes to adaptive sync, the Samsung Odyssey G3 supports FreeSync and Variable Refresh Rate. The monitor is also compatible with GSYNC.
All three of these display features are designed to remove any noticeable stutter and tearing from games that don’t have a stable frame rate.
Variable Refresh Rate is currently being used by the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X consoles. VRR is also expected to come to the PlayStation 5 in the future.
Samsung Odyssey G3’s Input Lag
The input lag is minuscule on the G3. For a lag-free gaming experience, we recommend getting a display that has latency that is less than 30 ms.

Samsung Odyssey G3 HDR Features
The Odyssey G3 does not support any HDR features. As a result, you will only play games in SDR mode on consoles.
Is the Samsung Odyssey G3 good for PS5, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X?
The Odyssey G3 is not the best monitor for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X if you want to get the most out of these consoles as this screen does not support HDMI 2.1, 1440p, 4K or HDR.
With that said, it is capable of displaying PS5, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X games at up to 120 frames per second in 1080p. Not to mention that it has extremely low input lag and comes with Variable Refresh Rate support.
Is the Samsung Odyssey G3 good for Switch, PS4, and Xbox One?
The Odyssey G3 is a good monitor for older consoles due to the aforementioned low input lag.
