When using your Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+ or Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, your eyes may start to feel strained.
You can take a look at this article from Seeking Tech to see how you can reduce eye strain for these smartphones.
1. The first step we recommend taking is to turn on the Eye Comfort Shield, which will help reduce the blue light emitted from the AMOLED screen of your smartphone.
In order to use this setting, you need to take the following steps:
- To begin, open the Settings App on your Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ or Galaxy S22 Ultra.
- From the first page of the Settings App, select Display.
- In the Display menu, tap Eye Comfort Shield.
2. You should also make sure that you have the Adaptive Brightness setting enabled as it will help automatically adjust the screen brightness to make it easier to view depending on your ambient lighting condition.
To find out more about how you can optimize Adaptive Brightness for the S22 series, you can check out this guide.
3. We also recommend using the Dark Theme on your S22, S22 Plus or S22 Ultra as doing so may cause less strain for your eyes when compared to the Light Theme.
In order to enable Dark Theme, open the Settings app and then go to Display, Next, select the “Light / Dark” setting and then make sure to set it to Dark.
The Dark Theme will only apply to the system menus on your phone. For certain apps, you will need to look for an option to use a dark or night theme.
If the app doesn’t have this setting, then you can also force all apps to display a dark theme by using the developer menu of your phone.
4. The Display menu of the Settings App features a few other customization settings that you may want to mess around with so make the screen of your S22 series phone easier on your eyes.
The settings we recommend adjusting include the following:
- Easy Mode
- Font Size and Style
- Motion Smoothness
- Screen Mode
- Screen Zoom
- Screen Resolution
5. You can also use the Visibility Enhancements menu in order to reduce eye strain from using your Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+ or Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
To get to this menu, open the Settings App on your phone and then tap Accessibility. Afterwards, tap Visibility Enhancements.
After getting to the Visibility Enhancements menu, we recommend taking a look at the following settings:
- Add Colour Filter
- Colour Adjustment
- Colour Inversion
- Display Mode
- Extra Dim
- Font Size and Style
- Highlight Buttons
- High Contrast Font
- High Contrast Keyboard
- High Contrast Theme
- Large Mouse/Touchpad Pointer
- Magnification
- Reduce Transparency and Blur
- Remove Animations
- Screen Zoom
6. Of course, you can also simply avoid looking at the screen of your Samsung phone when your eyes start to feel strained.
You should also make sure you keep your eyes moist by blinking.
Furthermore, we recommend that you occasionally take breaks away from looking directly at the screen.
