What is the water resistance rating for Amazon Halo View?
The Halo View from Amazon has a water resistance rating of 5 ATM. This means that this device can be used when you are swimming in a pool, lake, ocean as well as any other body of water at a maximum of 50 meters (or 164 feet) in depth.
This rating also means that you will be able to take showers as well as use the Halo View when it rains or snows. Of course, you don’t have to worry about your sweat or other bodily fluids potentially causing problems with this device.
How to prevent Amazon Halo View from getting water damaged
In order to prevent water damages for your Amazon Halo View, you can take the following precautionary measures:
1. First off, you should avoid wearing this fitness tracker if you are diving into a water depth that is more than the aforementioned 50 meters (or 164 feet) limit.
2. Avoid using the product in extremely humid conditions such as a sauna or steam room.
3. You should also prevent high-velocity water and pressurized water from making contact with the Halo View.
4. Furthermore, you need to make sure you are using the official charging clip that came with the Amazon Halo View as a third-party product may cause problems.
5. The official charging clip does not offer any water resistance whatsoever. Therefore, you need to make sure you don’t get any sweat, water or other types of liquids on either ends of the clip.
6. Before connecting the Halo View with the charging clip to recharge your device, you need to make sure that the Halo View is completely dry.
If you have excess water, you can use a dry lint-free cloth to wipe the liquid off.
When it comes to drying your fitness tracker, you can use a fan to speed up the process. We don’t recommend using a heat source, such as a hair blow dryer, as doing so may cause hardware issues.
Once the Halo View is completely dry, you will be able to safely recharge it.
7. You should also make sure that the charging clip is clean and damage free. You can use a dry lint-free cloth to clean the clip.
If the charging clip is damaged, then you need to get a replacement.
8. Don’t spill any chemicals, oil, lotion or other substances onto the fitness device.
If your Amazon Halo View gets dirty, then we suggest rinsing the fitness tracker with tap water. We don’t recommend using any soap or other cleaning solutions as doing so may cause damage.
After rinsing with plain water, use a lint-free cloth to wipe the device clean and then let it completely air dry.
9. Avoid dropping or damaging the Halo View. Otherwise, you may end up compromising its water protection.
10. Just like other electronics that offer water protection, the water resistance of the Amazon Halo View will weaken over time due to normal wear and tear.
So, if your fitness tracker is several years old, then you might want to consider getting a new one.
