When using the Samsung Freestyle, you may notice that the portable projector may turn off by itself. To see how you can fix the random shut down issues, you can take a look at this guide from Seeking Tech.
Why your Samsung Freestyle keeps shutting down by itself
If your Samsung Freestyle is seemingly shutting down at random times, then you most likely have Sleep Timer, Auto Power Off and/or Off Timer features enabled.
How to prevent Freestyle from turning off by itself
To see how you can disable these energy saving settings, you can check out the tutorials below.
1. The first potential fix is to see if Sleep Timer is enabled. If it is turned on, then you will need to disable this feature.
To find the Sleep Timer feature, you need to take the following steps:
- On the Samsung Smart Remote for the Freestyle Portable Projector, press the home button.
- Head to Menu, which is represented with the icon that has three horizontal lines.
- Head to Settings, which is represented with the gear cog icon.
- You then need to head to All Settings.
- Head to General & Privacy.
- Next, head to System Manager.
- Head to Time.
- Finally, head to Sleep Timer.
- If Sleep Timer is turned on, make sure to turn it off.
2. The auto shut down may also be due to the Auto Power Off feature of the Samsung Freestyle.
To access and disable this feature, you need to do the following:
- Press the home button on the remote for the portable projector.
- Go to Menu.
- Go into Settings.
- Go to All Settings.
- Here, you need to go to General & Privacy.
- Go to Power and Energy Saving.
- You then have to go to Auto Power Off.
- If Auto Power Off is enabled, make sure to disable it.
3. The Off Timer feature of the Samsung Freestyle may also be causing the portable projector to turn off at inopportune times.
To find this feature, you need to take the following steps:
- Once again, press the home button on the projector remote.
- Make sure you select Menu.
- Select Settings.
- Afterwards, select All Settings.
- Select General & Privacy.
- You then need to select System Manager.
- Select Time.
- Lastly, select Off Timer.
- If the Off Timer feature is turned on, then you will need to turn this feature off.
If disabling Sleep Timer, Auto Power Off and/or Off Timer features did not fix the random shut down issues, then you may want to consider contacting Samsung for additional support.
