1. The first step we recommend taking is to make sure that the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 does not feel hot when touched.
If your tablet is overheating, then it will automatically close apps and slow down its processing in order to cool itself down. In extreme cases, the A8 will even completely shut down in order to prevent hardware damage by rising temperatures.

2. Having multiple applications opened at the same time will take up a lot of hardware resources for your tablet. Therefore, you should close any apps that you aren’t currently using.
Keep in mind that some videogames, along with applications that use Location features, are more taxing on this device when compared to others.
3. Furthermore, you should also close any background-running apps that you don’t need. In order to do so, you need to take the following steps:
- Open the Settings app on your Samsung Galaxy Tab A8.
- Select Battery and device care.
- Select Memory.
- Select apps that you don’t want to run in the background.
- Finally, select the Clean now option.
4. The Galaxy Tab A8 has another feature called Optimize Now that may help you fix the crashing, freezing, random restarting and/or slowdown issues. To use it, you need to do the following:
- Go to the Settings app on your tablet.
- Go to Battery and device care.
- Finally, select “Optimize now.”
5. Moreover, you can use Auto Optimise Daily to automatically use the Optimize Now feature on a daily basis by taking the following steps:
- Launch the Settings app.
- Tap Battery and device care.
- Tap Optimize now.
- Tap the icon with the three vertical dots.
- Tap Automation.
- Finally, tap Auto optimise daily.
6. If the internal storage gets too full, then it may cause performance issues with the tablet. Therefore, we recommend that you leave around 20% of free space.

- In the next screen, you will find a list of apps and other files that you can delete.

7. Restarting the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 may also help as it will closed all apps and processes that may be causing the crashes and other issues.
To restart this tablet, you can swipe downwards from the top of the screen to bring down the Notification Panel where you can tap the power icon and then select the Restart option.
You can also press and hold the Side tablet on the A8 to open the power menu where you can then select the Restart option.
If the touchscreen is not responsive and/or the tablet is completely frozen, then you should be able to force the device to restart by pressing and holding the Side key and Volume Down key simultaneously for s minimum of 7 seconds.
8. You might also want to consider doing a factory reset on your Samsung Galaxy Tab A8. With this action, you will restore the default factory settings for the tablet, which may alleviate the crashing, freezing, random restarting and/or slowdown.
Keep in mind that this process will also delete all your personal data and files you have stored on the internal storage of the A8. Therefore, you should back up any important files you have on the tablet before proceeding.
