How to disable adaptive brightness on Samsung Galaxy Tab A8
If you want your Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 to display at a specific brightness level at all times no matter the ambient lighting conditions, you need to do the following:
1. Open the Settings app of the tablet from its home screen.
If you can’t find the application on the home screen, then you should be able to locate it by swiping upwards from bottom of the screen.
2. After open the Settings app, go to Display.
3. In the Display menu, make sure that the “Adaptive brightness” setting is turned off.
How to make adaptive brightness more accurate on Samsung Galaxy Tab A8
In order to make the adaptive brightness setting more accurate, you need to manually adjust the brightness level during the day, at night time as well as under any other different lighting conditions.
Furthermore, make sure that you don’t block the light sensor, which is located next to the front camera of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8. Otherwise, the tablet may not be able to sense the correct ambient lighting conditions.
There are two ways that you can adjust the adaptive brightness setting:
The first method is through the Quick Settings menu, which you can get to by doing the following:
1. Swipe downwards from the top of the screen two times by using one finger. Alternatively, you can use two fingers simultaneously to swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the Quick Settings menu.
2. The brightness adjustment bar should appear. If you don’t see it, tap the icon with the three vertical dots, select “Quick panel layout” and then turn on the “Show brightness control above notifications” setting.
You can also access the brightness adjustment bar via the Settings app by taking the following steps:
1. Launch the Settings app of the Galaxy Tab A8.
2. On the front page of the Settings application, select Display.
3. In the Display menu, you should have access to the brightness adjustment bar.
Thanks to machine learning, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 should get better at automatically adjusting the brightness level of the screen over time.
