Updating Xbox Series X’s firmware
Microsoft recently released a firmware that will help improve the stability, which includes reducing console shutdowns, when you are playing Battlefield 2042, FIFA 22 and/or NBA 2K22.
So, if you haven’t done so already, make sure that your Xbox Series X has been updated to its latest firmware.
To manually update your game system, you can take the following steps:
1. First off, you need to press the Xbox button on your controller in order to bring up the Guide menu. For the uninformed, the Xbox button should be lit up on your gamepad.
2. With the Guide menu opened, press the RB button a few times in order to go to “Profile & system” tab.
3. From the “Profile & system” tab in the Guide menu, open Settings.
4. After getting to the Settings menu, you first need to select System from the list of available options on left side of the screen.
5. Next, you need to select Updates on right side of the same screen.
6. Inside of the “System – Updates” menu, you should see the “Select Update” option appear on top if there is a new firmware available for download.
7. After selecting “Select Update,” you should see the “Let’s update” notification. Here, you need to select START UPDATE to start the download and install the new firmware.
