How to fix controller freezing issues with PS VR2 version of Beat Saber

When playing the PlayStation VR2 version of Beat Saber, you may encounter an issue where the Left or Right PS VR2 Sense Controller will stay stuck in pplace for a few second before tracking normally again. To see you can stop your motion controls from freezing in this game, you can take a look at this troubleshooting guide from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first step, we recommend taking a look at your lighting setup. If your room is too dark or too bright, then your virtual reality headset may have a hard time keeping track of your Sense Controllers. Therefore, you should avoid looking directly at overly bright lights in addition to making sure that your room isn’t too dim.

2. If you think that your lighting is fine, then we suggest that you enable the Tracking Support feature. In order to do so, you need to take the following steps:

  • Return to the home screen menu of your PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Digital Edition system. You can go there quickly by pressing and holding the PS logo button on either of your Sense Controllers.
  • From the home screen menu, select the gear icon found on the top right corner to head into Settings.
  • In Settings, select Accessories.
  • From the Accessories screen, select PlayStation VR2. If you don’t see this option, make sure that your headset is turned on.
  • On the right side, you need to scroll down and then make sure that Tracking Support is enabled.

By turning on this feature, a border will be added to your television screen. If you are staring straight at your TV while playing Beat Saber, then you should be able to get better controller tracking.

3. The 1.003.00 patch of Beat Saber on PS VR2 seems to be more susceptible to controller tracking issues. Unfortunately, there is currently no way you can revert to an older version of the game.

With that said, the development team may eventually fix this issue through a future patch.

To check if there is a new update return to the home screen of your PS5. From there, move the cursor over to the Beat Saber icon and then press the Options button on your controller. If done correctly, you should open a pop-up window for the music rhythm game, which is where you can then select the Check for Update option.

Hopefully, the new title update will fix the saber freezing issues.
