I recently got a chance to play through Golftacular! on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by Both Good.
You can find my gameplay video below:
You can also find my first impressions of Golftacular below:
Pros:
- Crazy power-ups.
- Local multiplayer with only one controller.
- Single player puzzle mode.
Cons:
- None.
Overall:
Golftacular is a mini-golf game with a major twist. During your turn, you can use certain power-ups that will help you get the ball closer to the hole.
Some power-ups will allow you to make the ball jump, while others will let you fly. My favorite is the Run ‘n Jump, which lets you control the golf ball like an actual character from a platforming game.
Golftacular supports up to four players locally. While you can play with four different DualSenses, there is also a wonderful option where you can use one controller and pass it to the next person when their turn is up.
In terms of single player, you can play through the courses by yourself. You can also try out the puzzle mode, which gives you a preset of power-ups for you to figure out how you can get the ball into the hole in as little shots as possible.
Overall, Golftacular is a fun arcade spin of mini-golf. The crazy power-ups can lead to a lot of crazy and hilarious situations, especially if you are playing multiplayer.
