I recently got a chance to play around an hour of Feudal Baron: King’s Land on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by Ultimate Games.
You can find my gameplay video, as well as my first impressions, below:
Pros:
- Lots of depth.
- Multiple expansive modes.
Cons:
- Steep learning curve.
Overall:
Feudal Baron: King’s Land is a medieval city builder where you have to gather materials, manage your citizens, and build up your colony.
Along with the main campaign, you can also play several specialized scenarios, such as Viking invasion. There is also a sandbox mode if you simply want to build without any story elements.
The game itself is also pretty deep. I only played through one hour of the main campaign, and it seemed like there was still so much more to learn, from new buildings to new management systems.
The only real issue is the steep learning curve. Aside from the beginning portion of the campaign, Feudal Baron is basically free of hand holding, forcing you to figure out some elements on your own.
If you don’t mind the high barrier of entry, then Feudal Baron: King’s Land can be a fun and deep city builder with lots of content.
