I recently got a chance to play around two hours of Farming Camp on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by SOEDESCO.
You can check out my gameplay video below:
You can also check out my first impressions of Farming Camp below:
Pros:
- Unique mix of Persona and farming sim.
- Intriguing cast of characters.
Cons:
- Some stutters.
Overall:
Farming Camp is a story-driven farming sim with some Persona elements.
As soon as you arrive, you are split into a team of three who must go against other teams in farming, cooking, and other competitions. Each of the 27 days is split into Mornings, Afternoons, and Night.
A lot of the activities, such as farming and deep conversations, will take up a time slot. This means that you often have to pick and choose what to do throughout your time at camp.
Do you spend some time with a fellow camper to improve your relationship with them? Or do you try to help increase your team points by focusing on the tasks given to you by the camp teachers?
Although it may seem like a relaxing experience, Farming Camp does have a somewhat dark story as each of the campers and teachers comes with some kind of baggage. It is pretty easy to get caught up with the drama.
The only real issue I encountered is that the game can stutter when you are walking around in the camp. This can be somewhat distracting if you are taking long walks since the screen scrolling may skip every few seconds.
Overall, Farming Camp is a fun and intriguing farming sim that focuses more on story. If you are looking for a unique take on the crowded farming genre, then you should definitely check out this game.
