I recently got a chance to play around 90 minutes of Enshrouded on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by Keen Games.
You can find my gameplay video below:
You can also check out my first impressions of Enshrouded below:
Pros:
- High production values with extreme polish.
- Responsive and weight combat.
- Online co-op for up to 16 players.
Cons:
- None.
Overall:
Enshrouded is an open-world survival crafting role-playing game. What makes this stands out from the rest the titles in the genre are the high production value and extreme polish.
Aside from some of the animations, the game not only looks stellar but also runs quite smoothly, at least on the PlayStation 5 Pro. To add to the immersion, the characters, as well as the notes you find in the world, are all voice acted.
The combat is surprisingly great as well with responsive controls to go along with a weighty feel that gives attacks an added oomph.
While a lot of survival crafters are usually built with keyboard and mouse controls in mind, Enshrouded feels perfect when playing on a gamepad.
Although Enshrouded can be played in single-player offline, the game also supports online co-op for up to 16-players. If you have friends and family, then co-op is definitely the way to play as you can team up to build your base and fight against hordes of enemies.
While single player is still a lot of fun, it may get a bit grindy as you have to do a lot of stuff on your own.
Overall, Enshrouded is one of the better open-world survival RPG available on consoles due to its high production values and polish. If you are a fan of the genre, then make sure you pick this game up.
