This Seeking Tech guide will provide some tips if you are having trouble beating all three beach volleyball stages in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
For this mini-game, you need to deflect the small gestrals back to the opponent before they hit your raft. There are three stages: “The Weakest,” “Just a normal one” and “The Strongest.”
You can use the following video as a visual aide:
If you haven’t done so already, make sure you go into settings and set Sprint Input to Toggle. By doing so, you no longer have to hold the R2 button on a PlayStation controller or RT button on an Xbox controller.
When it comes to positioning, move close, but not all the way, to the top side of your raft. There should be two boards ahead of you.
The small gestrals will come at you from the left, middle or right side. With sprint set to toggle, press R2 or RT once at the start. By doing so, you should be able to respond to the directional changes quickly.
There is a bit of input delay when you press the attack button, which is R1 on a PlayStation controller or RB on the Xbox controller. Therefore, it is best that you press the button just after when the small gestral stop spinning in middle air.
You should also make sure that you attack at an angle if the small gestrals are coming from the left or right side. If it is coming from the left, try aiming to the top left of the raft. If it is coming to the right, try aiming to the top right of the raft. This allows you to stay near the middle of the raft, giving you extra time to adjust to any positional changes.
The Strongest stage is probably the hardest challenge in the entire game. To beat it, make sure you pay attention to where the small gestrals are when they are floating in the air, since you will be bombarded with them constantly. Everything else depends on luck. I was able to eventually beat this stage when I got a bunch of small gestrals that were sent to the middle of the raft consecutively.
