Recently, I got a chance to play Adorable Adventures on the PlayStation 5 Pro for around an hour thanks to a review copy provided by PQube and Wild Sheep Studio via Keymailer.co.
You can find a video of the first 60 minutes of the game, with no commentary, below:
You can also check out my quick impressions below:
Pros:
- Game is a very relaxing semi open-world game with lots of secrets that reward you for curiosity. If you are into trophies and achievements.
- Boris and his siblings are cute and super charming.
- The narrator does a nice job by adding context to controls and story.
- Aside from a few stutters and frame rate drops, the game runs smoothly at 60 fps with great visuals.
Cons:
- The scent system can be somewhat finicky, as it can sometimes be hard to tell where the target is located.
- When trying to complete a specific objective, the game can be frustrating. The strong scents usually overwhelm the scent of where you need to go. This means that you often need to recognize the strong scents for several objects in the same vicinity before getting pointed to the right direction.
Overall:
Adorable Adventures is a nice and relaxing game filled with a lot of charm, especially if you are into semi-open world exploration with lots of secrets.
If you want to rush through it, however, then the experience can be somewhat frustrating with how the scent system works.
