Angeline Era on PS5 Pro: First Impressions

I recently for a chance to play around an hour of Angeline Era on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by Analgesic Productions.

You can find my gameplay video below:

You can also check out my first impressions of Angeline Era below:

Pros:

  • Charming PS1-era polygons.
  • Unique Bumpslash Combat.
  • Action-packed stages.
  • Towns and world map.

Cons:

  • None.

Overall:

Angeline Era is an action role-playing game where you attack enemies by running into them. Because the enemies can attack, you have to take the risks and rewards into consideration before making your move.

The game is broken into stages that you need to find while on the world map. After finding the levels, you need to play a quick mini-game where you move through obstacles and attack enemies.

The stages are action-packed and fast-paced. At the end of some levels, you may have to fight a boss, which can be quite challenging at first as you need to learn their attack pattern.

You can also find towns on the world map, which give you the chance to buy items, upgrade your weapons, and level up.

Visually, the game looks like something that came from the PS1-era with its charming low-polygon style. In fact, the game has an old-school PS1 JRPG feel to it.

Overall, Angeline Era is an excellent action role-playing game with an old school charm. If the PS1-era action JPRGs, then make sure you don’t miss out on this title.
