Flesh Made Fear on PS5 Pro: First Impressions

I recently got a chance to play around an hour of Flesh Made Fear on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by Assemble Entertainment.

You can find my gameplay video below:

You can check out my impressions of Flesh Made Fear below:

Pros:

  • Classic Resident Evil gameplay.
  • Multiple playable characters and difficulties.
  • Most notes are voice acted.

Cons:

  • No alternative to tank control movement.

Overall:

Flesh Made Fear is a survivor horror game that pays homage to the classic Resident Evil style. This means that it features static camera angles, tank controls, limited inventory slots, limited ammunition, and limited saves.

You can even play different characters with Jack and Natalie each having their own advantages and disadvantages. Not to mention, each character can explore exclusive areas.

In terms of gameplay, you get to explore a small town that is overrun by grotesque monsters. As you may expect, some pathways are blocked until you find a specific item to unlock it.

While exploring, you may also find notes, most of which are voiced, which really adds to the immersion, and horror, of the story.

The only downside is that there is no alternative to the tank controls. So, if you weren’t a fan of them before, then you unfortunately have no other option.

If you don’t mind the tank controls, then Flesh Made Fear is a great tribute to classic Resident Evil.
