1. The first potential fix you can try is to make sure that the Increase Touch Sensitivity setting hasn’t been turned on. In order to do so, you need to take the following steps:
- Open the Settings App on your Pixel 6a device.
- From the Settings menu, you need to select Display.
- Inside of the Display menu, make sure that the Increase Touch Sensitivity setting is disabled.
2. You should also make sure that you disable the Tap to Check Phone feature by doing the following:
- Start by launching the Settings App.
- In Settings, head over to System.
- From the System menu, you then need to go to Gestures.
- Inside of the Gestures menu, make sure that the Tap to Check Phone setting is turned off.
3. You may want to disable the Lift to Check Phone feature as well by taking the following steps:
- Go to the Settings App.
- From the front page of Settings, you need to go to System.
- Once you arrived in the System menu, you then need to head over to Gestures.
- In the Gestures menu, make sure that the Lift to Check Phone setting is disabled.
4. The Smart Lock feature could be causing your phone to accidentally turn on and unlock when you put it in your pocket.
If you want to disable this function on your Google Pixel 6a, then you need to do the following:
- To begin, you need to open the Settings App.
- After you get to Settings, you then need to go to Security.
- Inside of the Security menu, select Advanced Settings at the bottom of the screen.
- In the Advanced Settings menu, you then need to tap Smart Lock.
- You will be asked to unlock the screen of your Pixel 6a phone in order to continue.
- Once you get to the Smart Lock menu, select On-Body Detection.
- From the On-Body Detection menu, make sure that the Use On-Body Detection setting is disabled.
- To prevent accidental unlocks in other situations, return to the aforementioned Smart Lock menu and then select Trusted Places.
- In the Trusted Places menu, select a place.
- You then need to select Delete in the pop-up menu.
- Delete all of the places in the Trusted Places menu in order to fully disable this unlock condition.
- Return to the Smart Lock menu and then select Trusted Devices.
- In the Trusted Devices menu, select a device.
- You then need to select Remove in the pop-up menu.
- Delete all of the devices in the Trusted Devices menu in order to completely turn off this unlock condition.
