What to do when you lost your Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+ or S22 Ultra phone

If your Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+ or Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone is missing, then there is a possibility that you will be able to recover it by using the Find My Mobile feature.

To find out how you can use it to find your lost phone, you can take a look at this walkthrough from Seeking Tech.

Samsung Find My Mobile Requirements

In order to use Samsung’s Find My Mobile feature, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • You must be signed into your Samsung account on your Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ or Galaxy S22 Ultra phone.
  • Your phone must have the Find My Mobile feature enabled. This should be turned on by default if you are signed into your Samsung account. You can find this feature by opening the Settings App and then selecting Biometrics and Security.
  • The smartphone must be turned on.
  • It also needs to be either connected to a mobile network or a Wi-Fi network.

How to find your lost Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+ or S22 Ultra

In order to find your missing S22, S22+ or S22 Ultra by using the Find My Mobile feature, you need to take the following steps:

1. On another device (we highly recommend using another smartphone for your convenience), go to the Samsung Find My Mobile website.

2. Log into the same Samsung account you have signed into your missing Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+ or Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

3. If you have multiple devices using the Find My Mobile feature, then make sure you have your missing phone selected on the website.

4. After selecting your missing smartphone, a map will then show the last known location of the device.

5. If possible, you should physically head over to that location.

6. On the website, you can then select the “Ring” option, which will make your missing Galaxy S22 series phone play a loud ringtone even if you previously set the device to silent.

7. You can then use the ringtone as an audio cue to help locate your missing smartphone.

8. If you can’t hear your phone even if you get to the location specified by the map, then you can try selecting the “Track Location” option. This feature will re-track your phone, which is helpful if the device has been moved from one location to another.

Along with the “Ring” and “Track Location” options, you can also do the following via the Find My Mobile website:

By using the “Lock” option, you will lock the screen, Side key, Samsung Pass and Samsung Pay features of your S22, S22 Plus or S22 Ultra.

The “Back Up” option will let you copy any data and files you have on the internal storage of your missing phone to the Samsung Cloud.

With the “Retrieve Calls and Messages” option, you get to view a list containing your 50 most recent call logs and text messages.

By using the “Unlock” option, you can remotely unlock your smartphone.

By using the “Erase Data” option, you will restore your missing phone to its original factory setting. Since this action will delete all files from your smartphone, we recommend using the aforementioned “Back Up” option first so that you don’t accidentally erase any important data.

You can also use Samsung’s Find My Mobile website to put your lost phone into a power saving mode. Moreover, you are able to set up a notification alert when the SIM card on your missing device has been changed.
