Find My Device Requirements
For the Find My Device feature to work, you will need to meet the following requirements:
1. First off, you need to have previously enable Find My Device. The feature can be found in the Security menu of the Settings app.
2. The Location feature should be enabled as well. You can find the option to do so in the Location menu of the Settings app.
3. Your smartphone should also be visible in your Google Play account. You can see if your phone is listed under the “My devices” section of the Google Play website.
4. Your Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro should be turned on.
5. The phone should also be signed into the same Google account as the aforementioned Google Play account.
6. Finally, your smartphone should also be connected to either mobile data or Wi-Fi.
How to know if you lost Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro phone can be located
To know whether or not your Google Pixel 6 or Google Pixel 6 Pro can be located, you can either visit the Find My Device website or open the Find My Device app.
On either the website or app, make sure you signed into the same Google account you have on your lost phone.
If you have multiple devices on your google Account, then you can switch to the correct device at the top of the screen.
After selecting your Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro phone, you should see an approximate location of your lost device. If your smartphone can’t be found, then the app or website will show the device’s last known location instead.
How to lock your lost Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro
If you believe that your lost Google Pixel 6 or Google Pixel 6 Pro is currently unlocked, then you can lock it remotely by taking the following steps:
1. Open the Find My Device app or Find My Device website.
2. Make sure that you are sign into the same Google account you used on your lost phone.
3. You should also make sure that you have the right device selected. If not, you can switch between the different registered devices at the top of the screen.
4. With the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro phone selected, you then need to select the “Secure Device” option.
This will lock your unlocked lost phone. It should remain unlocked until you enter your PIN, pattern or password directly on the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro.
5. If your Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro does not have a PIN, pattern or password assigned to it, then you will be asked to set one up.

In order to find your lost Google Pixel 6 or Google Pixel 6 Pro smartphone, you need to do the following:
1. Go to the Find My Device app or Find My Device website.
2. Sign into the same Google account you used on your lost phone.
3. Next, you need to make sure that you have the right device selected. You are able to switch devices at the top of the app or website.
4. The map on the right side of the screen will either show an approximate location or the last known location of the map.

5. When you get to the location shown on the map, you can the select the “Play Sound” option. This will make your lost phone ring for 5 minutes even if it was previously set to silent.

If you can’t find your smartphone and considered it to be a lost forever, then you might want to remote activate a factory reset to protect your privacy.
In order to do so, you need to take the following steps:
1. Head to the Find My Device app or Find My Device website.
2. Inside the application or site, make sure you are signed into the same Google account you used on your missing phone.
3. If you have multiple devices tied to the Google account, then you can switch devices at the top of the screen to your lost smartphone.
4. With the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro selected, you then need to select the “Erase Device” option.
A factory reset will delete all your personal data you have stored in the internal storage of your missing phone.
