About Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct Connections for Printing
Before we begin, it is important to note that the Galaxy S22 series can only be connected to a printer over Wi-Fi. The smartphone and printing devices need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Alternatively, you can also use Wi-Fi Direct to establish a direct wireless connection between these two.
To check your Wi-Fi network connection status, open the Settings App, select Connections and then select Wi-Fi.
To check your Wi-Fi Direct connection status, go to the Settings App and then head over to Connections. Next, select Wi-Fi and then tap the icon with the three dots. Finally select Wi-Fi Direct.
How to add printer plug-ins to Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra
To start off, make sure you install the plug-in for the printer on your Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ or Galaxy S22 Ultra. In order to do so, you need to take the following steps:
- Open the Settings App on your phone.
- From the very first page of the Settings App, head into Connections.
- In the Connections menu, select More Connection Settings.
- You then need to select Printing.
- Afterwards, select Download plugin.
- Select the plugin of your printer and the install the plugin on your S22 series smartphone.
- Once the plugin has been installed, your phone will then automatically start scanning for your printer over Wi-Fi.
- Make sure that your printer is turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone. If you are using Wi-Fi Direct, then make sure that this feature is enabled on your printer.
- Once the printer has been detected, select it to complete the setup process of adding a printer to your Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ or Galaxy S22 Ultra.
How to print documents and images on Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra
With the printer connected, you can take the following steps in order to print documents and images on the Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+ and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra:
While viewing the content that you want to print out, you may be able to see Print on the options list. Tap it and then tap the down-pointing arrow icon. Afterwards, tap All Printers and then select the printer you previously registered to this phone.
Make sure that your printer has been turned on and is connected to your smartphone either through Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Direct. If you setup the printer correctly, then it should start printing out the content.
