If you are encountering issues using your Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+ or Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra when calling someone or receiving a call, then you can take a look at this troubleshooting guide from Seeking Tech.
1. The first step we recommend taking is to make sure that you are connected to the correct mobile network.
2. If you are sure that you are using the right mobile network, then make sure you are getting a strong signal.
To get a better signal, move to a different location, preferably outside if possible.
3. If you are hearing echoes when talking during a call, then you can try lowering the volume of your smartphone to see if the echoes go away.
If this effect still persists after lowering the volume, then you can try moving to a new location.
4. You should also make sure that you did not block the phone number that you are trying to receive a call from and/or trying to call.
In order to check if a number is blocked, you can take the following steps:
- Open the Phone App on your Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ or Galaxy S22 Ultra.
- Tap the icon with the three dots.
- You then need to tap Settings.
- Next, tap Blocked Numbers.
- In the next screen, you will see a list of phone numbers that you have blocked. Delete the number that is trying to contact you and/or you are trying to contact.
5. You should make sure that you aren’t blocking the speaker if you can’t hear your call clearly. You should also make sure that you aren’t blocking the microphone if the other person can’t hear your voice clearly.
Both the speaker and microphone of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra is located at the top of the device and near the front camera if you are holding these phones in portrait mode. In landscape mode, these are located near the front camera on the right side.
6. If the speaker or microphone of the S22 series is wet, then you may get audio distortion.
To see how you can properly dry a S22, S22 Plus or S22 Ultra phone that has been soaked with water, you can take a look at this post.
7. If your Samsung phone is overheating, then you may not be able to make and/or receive calls. So, if the device feels hot, we recommend letting it cool down first before using it again.
