When compared to the XTRFY M4 RGB Ultra-Light Gaming Mouse, the XTRFY M42 RGB Ultra-Light Gaming Mouse is smaller in size in most cases. The only exception is that the M42 has a slightly wider fingertip grip width than the M4.
The newer XTRFY M42 also has interchangeable palm rest parts, giving you more grip options when compared to the XTRFY M4.
The only other difference is that the M42 weighs 10 grams less than the M4.

The XTRFY M42 comes with two interchangeable bottom palm rest parts, which allows you to more comfortably use the claw, fingertip and palm grips.

The M4 and M42 are both equipped with the ARM 32-bit microcontroller for the processor.
Sensor
Furthermore, the two PC mouses use the Pixart 3389 optical gaming sensor.
