MSI has revealed a list of flat-screen and curved-screen computer monitors that support downscaling 4K signals to 1440p for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition. You can find out the compatible displays in this guide.
About 1440p Support on PS5
The PS5 does not currently support the native 1440p resolution. As a result, most 1440p monitors can only display PS5 games at a native 1080p or 1080p video quality that have been upscaled to 1440p. An upscaled video quality from a lower native resolution to 1440p does not look as sharp as a downscaled video quality from higher native resolution to 1440p.
Sony has stated that they may add native support for 1440p in a future firmware update for the PlayStation 5 if there is enough demand for the resolution.
Fortunately, there are several monitors that supports 4K downscaling to 1440p if you don’t want to wait. With the PS5-compatible MSI monitors, you need to use the Console Mode.
