Backlight Technology

The TCL Class 5-Series is equipped with LED backlight that provides up to 80 contrast control zones. The TCL Class 6-Series is equipped with Mini-LED backlight that provides up to 240 contrast control zones, which is three times as much.

For the uninformed, contrast control zones are spread out over the screen to help better display the contrast between bright and dark areas. As a result, having more zones will lead to a more accurate contrast.

Audio Features

The main difference, in terms of audio features, is that the 6-Series supports Dolby Atmos while the 5-Series doesn’t. Both televisions do have the same 8W + 8W speaker setup in addition to supporting Dolby Digital Plus.
