The Q60T, Q70T, Q80T and Q90T are new Samsung 4K Ultra High Definition HDR QLED Smart TVs that came out in 2020. So how do these television sets compare against each other when it comes to playing games on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X as well as other consoles? You can find out in this comparison guide.

Quick Summary

The Samsung Q90T is easily the best out of the Samsung 2020 4K UHD TVs when it comes to HDR peak brightness. In terms of input lag, the differences between the four television sets are negligible as all of them are great at reducing latency. If you want to get the best picture quality for the PlayStation 5 and/or Xbox One, then we recommend getting the Q90T.

The Q60T does not come with any HDMI 2.1 ports while the other three models come with one HDMI 2.1 port each. The Q60T does come with composite input while the others don’t. All four TVs include a tuner.

HDMI 2.1 Ports

The Samsung Q60T does not come with any HDMI 2.1 ports. The Samsung Q70T, Samsung Q80T and Samsung Q90T come with one each.

HDMI 2.1 provides more bandwidth, which results in new features such as 120 frames per second and variable refresh rate in supported PS5 and Xbox Series X videogames.

Wide Color Gamut

All four of Samsung’s 2020 4K UHDHDR QLED Smart TVs support wide color gamut.

HDR10

The Q60T, Q70T, Q80T and Q90T televisions are also compatible with HDR10.

HDR10+

All four TV sets also support HDR10+.

Dolby Vision

None of the new Samsung 4K television sets support Dolby Vision HDR.

The Samsung Q90T 4K UHD HDR QLED Smart TV is easily the best out of the group when it comes to high dynamic range brightness levels. The Samsung Q80T is also a very solid HDR set. Both the Q60T and Q70T are below average when it comes to HDR brightness.

Input Lag

The input lag differences is virtually negligible across the Samsung Q60T, Samsung Q70T, Samsung Q80T and Samsung Q90T models. All four have great latency reduction in game mode. The variable refresh rate feature of the Q70T, Q80T and Q90T televisions are also excellent when it comes to lag.

AMD FreeSync

The Samsung Q70T, Samsung Q80T and Samsung Q90T TVs support AMD FreeSync if you have a compatible PC graphics card. The Samsung Q60T does not.

NVIDIA G-Sync

None of the four television sets in this comparison guide support NVIDIA’s G-Sync.

Composite

The Samsung Q60T 4K Ultra High Definition HDR QLED Smart TV supports composite input. The Samsung Q70T, Q80T and Q90T do not.

A few notable consoles that use composite are the PS1, PS2, Gamecube, Wii and Xbox. If you want to connect these to the Q70T, Q80T and Q90T, then you need to purchase a composite-to HDMI adapter.
