Both of these Samsung memory cards have an UHS speed class rating of U3.

Video Speed Class

Only the new version of the Pro+ have a speed class rating.

As the new cards have been rated V30, they should have a minimum sustained sequential write speed of 30 MB per second. This is good enough to record videos at 1080p, 4K and 8K resolutions.

Application Speed Class

The newer Samsung Pro Plus microSD cards are also the only one to receive an application speed class rating for A2. This means that these memory cards can achieve the following:

  • Minimum sustained sequential write speed of 10 MB per second
  • Minimum random read speed of 4000 IOPS
  • Minimum random write speed of 2000 IOPS

Maximum Transfer Speed

The 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB capacities of the New Samsung Pro Plus are 65 MB per second faster, or 68.42% faster, than the 32 GB Old Samsung Pro Plus and 60 MB per second faster, or 60% faster, than the 64 GB Old Samsung Pro Plus at maximum sequential transfers.

Furthermore, the New Samsung Pro Plus and Old Samsung Pro Plus are protected against up to 15,000 gauss in magnetic radiation.

Drop Proof

The new cards have a drop proof rating of up to 5 meters (or 16.4 feet).

Wear-out Proof

The new versions are also the only ones with a wear-out proof rating as these cards can withstand up to 10,000 slot insertions and ejections.

Operating Temperature

The old and new versions have the same operating temperature range of -25℃ to 85℃.

The New Samsung Pro Plus microSD Memory Card and Old Samsung Pro Plus microSD Memory Card each comes with a limited 10-year warranty.
