AMD recently added two new products to the Ryzen 3 desktop central processing unit series with the 3100 and 3300X. So, how does the new CPUs compare against the older releases, the 1200, 1300X and 2300X?
You can find out in this comparison guide.
Quick Summary
The AMD Ryzen 3 3100 and 3300X CPUs come with faster speeds for both the base clock and boosted clock, which will result in better frame rates.
The two products also come with much bigger total cache that will end up keeping the frame rate smoother as well.
Last but not least, both are equipped with twice as many threads, making the two CPUs more ideal multitask processes when compared to the competition.
Overall, both the 3100 and especially the 3300X CPUs are big improvements over the 1200, 1300X and 2300X CPUs.

Specs
Both the AMD Ryzen 3 3100 and AMD Ryzen 3 3300X were built with the Zen 2 microarchitecture. As a result, the base and maximum boosted clock speeds are faster than the predecessors. Not to mention that the amount of threads have been doubled to 8 while the cache saw a big bump to 18 MB. The new CPUs also use the faster PCIe 4.0.
As a result, the all of the aforementioned improvements, you should be able to get higher and more consistent frame rates. The added threads should also mean that the newer releases will be better at multitasking.
