3rd Gen Echo vs. 4th Gen Echo

In 2020, Amazon released its fourth generation of the Echo. So, how does the new model compare to the older third-generation version?

You can find out in this comparison guide between the two voice-controlled speakers.

Quick Summary

When compared to the 3rd Gen Echo, the 4th Gen Echo features an AZ1 Neural Edge, which leads to a more responsive device.

The newer version also adds built-in smart home hub, Bluetooth Low Energy, low power mode and temperature sensor.

Last but not least, the fourth-generation speaker comes with an extra tweeter, which should result in better sound output.

Needless to say, the new Amazon Echo is a massive improvement over the older model. If you have a hard time deciding between these two, then we recommend getting the fourth generation model.
