When compared to the 2021 NANO75 and 2020 NANO80, the 2020 NANO85 is the most suitable for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles due to support for HDMI 2.1, 120 frames per second, Dolby Vision and Variable Refresh Rate.

The 2020 LG NanoCell 85 can also output at a brighter HDR level when compared to the other two TVs.

With that said, the 2021 LG NanoCell 75 and 2020 LG NanoCell 80 do have slightly lower input lag than the NanoCell 85.

As for older game consoles, all three NANO sets come with an antenna input that you can use to connect NES, Super NES, Master System, Genesis and other systems from those eras.

The 2020 NANO80 also comes with a hybrid composite/composite input.

The 2020 NANO85 supports composite input as you need to use the included adapter.

HDR Features

The 2020 NANO85 is the only one out of this group of LG televisions to support Dolby Vision and local dimming.

Unlike the other two displays, the 2021 NANO75 does not display a wide color gamut.

Contrast Ratios

The 2020 NANO85 has the best contrast out of the three, especially with local dimming enabled.

Coming in second is the 2020 NANO80 while the 2021 NANO75 ends up in last place.

HDR Brightness in Game Mode

According to testing done by RTINGS.com, the 2020 NANO85 is able to output the highest brightness levels when you are using the game mode settings for these televisions.

The 2021 NAN075 is slightly brighter than the 2020 NANO80.

With that said, all three are pretty underwhelming as HDR sets as they don’t come nowhere close to output our recommend minimum of 500 nits if you want an impressive HDR display.

Native Refresh Rate

The 2021 NANO75 and 2020 NANO80 have a native refresh rate of 60 Hz as both can display 60 frames per second at the maximum.

The 2020 NANO85 has double the native refresh rate as it is capable of displaying games at up to 120 frames per second.

Adaptive Sync Support

The 2020 NANO85 is also the only one of these LG televisions to support Variable Refresh Rate.

For the uninformed, VRR is used by the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (the PS5 should also be getting the same feature in an upcoming firmware update) to help stop stutters and screen tearing from games that run at an unstable frame rate.

Input Lag in Game Mode

According to tests from RTINGS.com, the 2021 NANO75 and 2020 NANO80 have pretty much the same input lag when you use these TV’s game mode settings. If there is a difference, it is only 0.2 millisecond apart.

Both the 2021 NANO75 and 2020 NANO80 offer lower latency than the 2020 NANO85. With that said, the 2020 version of the NanoCell 85 is still consider a pretty responsive television set.
